Ibis Communicator Series

Integrated IBIS web browser and TTS-engine for mobile applications rendering speech output in SA English and Isixhosa suitable for a wide range of interpersonal communication applications in the above mentioned languages in particular domains, e.g. in the health sector, security sector, banking sector and educational sector.
Applications are developed and customized in cooperation with the client.

Development of other South African languages is taking place on a continuous basis. Language development can be fast tracked in response to the needs of the client.
The initial development took place within the Mobile E-Leaning for Africa (MELFA)-project with the co-operation of Danish partners. (http://www.melfaproject.net).

The system currently supports the following devices:
Windows Mobile: HTC Touch Series (Diamond, Pro, HD, etc)

Potentially the following devices can also be supported:
Windows Mobile: Samsung Omnia, Sony Ericsson Xperia
Android: HTC Dream, Magic, Hero
Future Android devices from Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, etc.
iPhone: iPhone 3G, 3GS, iPod Touch / S60: Nokia N97, Samsung Omnia HD / Maemo: Nokia N900

400Mhz+ CPU; 128MB+ RAM; 30MB storage space
